Luxurious Printed Scarf by Still Point Gallery & Boutique, Angel, Musee d'Orsay, Paris
$ 225.00
Still Point Gallery introduces its own new line of luxurious lightweight printed scarves made from a blend of soft cashmere. We've partnered with a specialty clothing manufacturer in northern India that works with clothing designers around the world. Providing the distinguishing character to these beautiful scarves are printed images selected from Geoff Baker's collection of fine art photographs. Original and even iconic scenes from great cities of the world, as well as his regional landscapes, comprise the collection, many of which have been exhibited in museums and held in private collections.
Angels
The image of the angel for this scarf was contained within a large Renaissance painting in the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. I neglected to make note of the artist and have come up empty in my search to identify the painting. If anyone has a thought about who the artist might be, please contact the gallery and I'll add it to the description. As a brief side note, "Renaissance" angels or cherubim were distinguished from "Byzantine" angels, primarily in style and to a degree in symbolism. Both types, however, were portrayed to be communicators, often in the role of interlocutors who served heaven and earth.
